What does it take to create a livable future in a healthy environment? How can sustainability policies reflect diverse realities and address the concerns of young people? How can municipalities and cities contribute to solving global challenges?
On November 13, 2024, the State of Carinthia and SDG Watch Austria invited stakeholders to the BIOS National Park Center Mallnitz to discuss these and other vital questions. Modeled after the federal SDG Dialogue Forums, the event fostered direct exchange between politics, administration, academia, business, and civil society, creating dedicated space for youth voices and global perspectives.
Carinthia was the first Austrian federal state to align its government programme with the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Against this background, the collaborative forum enabled fruitful dialogue among diverse societal stakeholders—because achieving sustainable development both globally and regionally requires shared commitment.
