The Austrian Speech-to-Text Interpreters Association at the WKO Vienna Day of Languages

On September 27, 2023, the Vienna Economic Chamber (WKO) hosted the 1st Day of Languages at the House of Viennese Business. The Austrian Speech-to-Text Interpreters Association (ÖSDV) was actively represented at this premier industry event.

At the booth, the association provided comprehensive information on the range of services offered by certified speech-to-text interpreters. Visitors were able to discover firsthand how real-time speech-to-text works in practice. A highlight of the event was our live captioning demonstration during the lecture "Accessible Events – Speech-to-Text Interpreting."

Feedback on the live demonstration was overwhelmingly positive. Many attendees, including fellow language service professionals, expressed deep appreciation for how spoken discourse is converted into precise, readable text instantaneously. The presentation sparked insightful conversations and valuable new networking opportunities.

For the ÖSDV, this event represented an important milestone in putting accessible event design in the spotlight and further raising awareness of professional speech-to-text interpreting.
